Well i know  i want to do a video piece for this brief, the theme being "Where do we came from, what are we, where are we going." Progress to date has been rather slow to say the least. I am interested in how a film piece can be interpreted by differently by the viewer due to scale....does the meaning become "lost in translation" which leads me onto this....

Case Study

Well here i find myself again "blogging" away. The last week has been interesting, made a small amount of progress regarding my case study, although not as much as id hoped. Having difficulty narrowing it all down, i know it needs to be done due to time constraints. The subject of abortion is huge but i only have a short period to research and compile the final document. I had a conversation with Richard Haigh this morning and feel much more positive in regards to this, my original idea was to concentrate on the 18 to 25 age group but after this discussion i have decided to research the 16 to 18 year old group , i feel this would be a more realistic target to set myself and would make for more interesting reading for the audience. A work in progress i think, my task for the next few days is to further research the subject and also to firm up my questionnaires ready for hand out.

Forgive me im new to this

Well guys, im new to this blogging business but i will try my best, certainly beats writing things in a diary so here goes. Thats the first two weeks back at college and now into 3rd year...Whoo hoo!! this is where it all gets very serious, but i have to admit that i am very excited about this year and looking forward to getting my "teeth" into some good research and practical projects. This year is made up of a 120 credit module being broken down as follows-

Last week saw the start of my Professional and Contextual Studies module, which is a research based project and should run in conjunction with my studio practice. I have decided after thought and consideration to continue with female issues and in this particular case look at the subject of Abortion, not an easy subject to discuss but one i feel is very important in todays society. I have chosen and responded to the brief i received by means of a proposal and presentation which took place on 07.09.10 and i am looking to finalise my proposal for next week. Early research has been started and contact has been made with institutions...i am awaiting their replies :)

Today......ahhhhh.....lots of information, due to Mr Paul Thomson i find myself on here. I am starting to think this is a good idea, getting it all of you chest, so to speak. Anyway today we REALLY did find out exactly what is expected from us (scary) but all very exciting. I have been issued with a choice of briefs for a few practical projects, up till Christmas, when the fun really starts!! Choices have to be made, promptly i would say...a weekend of decision making awaits!!
